Position Summary:
Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs. Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters. Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning. Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing. May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding. May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects
Responsible for managing and coordinating administrative aspects of the global partnerships and exchange programs at UAB directly reporting to the Mary Heersink Institute for Global Health (MHIGH) Administrative Director and MHIGH Director, and according to an established program plan. Coordinate logistics for select collaborations affiliated with the Heersink School of Medicine, the School of Health Professions, the School of Public Health, the Graduate School, the Office of the Provost, and Global Affairs/Engagement.
Coordinate specific global health initiatives including collaborations with McMaster University, Maastricht University, operationalization of the UAB Global Health Task Force recommendations, piloting programs and serving as a liaison across central administrative units and schools. May participate in the development of program objectives and is responsible for achieving defined parameters set by University policies and procedures and plans.
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to manage multiple competing priorities; understand, define and/or implement new policies and procedures; and possess strong collaboration skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate pilot grant and student exchange collaborative programs
- Liaise with UAB-McMaster steering committee, other committees, and UAB partners
- Ensure that any new, or changes to ongoing, initiatives are communicated appropriately so that websites and other materials are updated
- Coordinate with relevant global health stakeholders to pilot task force recommendations
- Support development of global health employee training
- Serve as liaison across central administrative units and schools for implementation of services
- Evaluate processes to ensure meaningful services are provided to promote global health
- Liaison for MOUs/agreements
- Coordinate meeting planning and hosting via Zoom, meeting minutes, formalized reports, and presentations as requested
- Generate relevant communications content for social media, quarterly newsletters, and marketing materials
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and timely communications with team members, global health collaborators, faculty, and stakeholders
- Report directly to the Administrative Director
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $51,270 - $80,000
