Compensation:
Pay Range: $35.27 - $51.17 / hour

Unit Details:
The Interventional Cardiovascular Unit (ICVU) is a 32-bed step-down unit that provides care to patients with general cardiology diagnoses and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD), as well as before and after surgical procedures within the UAB Heart & Vascular Center. This unit features a dynamic atmosphere for nurses to advance their critical thinking skills and technical expertise in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment. ICVU is part of the UAB Cardiovascular Institute, which is consistently ranked among the nation’s top 50 hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for ventricular assist devices and Advanced Primary Heart Attack Center designation demonstrates UAB Medicine’s commitment to the highest quality care and safety standards.

Job Description:
To work with nursing leadership to direct nursing service activities in the assigned care unit for the duration of one shift and/or in the absence of the Nurse Manager. To provide professional nursing care for patients in assigned care unit. To support nursing leadership in the coordination of patient care, personnel management, physician/interdisciplinary collaboration and general administrative duties.
