Job Description - CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR I (T222881) CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR I - (T222881) The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Ped - Neonatology, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I. The CRC I is needed to investigate trajectories of infant brain development. Mothers and infants from diverse backgrounds are enrolled in the second trimester of pregnancy and followed over multiple years. Healthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD).
General Responsibilities
- To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.
- To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.
- To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Works closely with other UAB research team members and in partnership with UA and other sites in this large, nationwide consortium.
- Works directly with mothers and/or caregivers and their infants/toddlers to recruit, enroll, and retain participants.
- Screens, consent, and schedules visits for participants.
- Participates in tracking the families and reporting this to the CRC II and PIs.
- Collects information and enters data into established data systems for this study. Attendance is required to regularly scheduled meetings at UAB/UA, and team meetings and consortium training via Zoom and in person (which can be outside of Alabama).
- Required to learn databases used for this protocol including Ripple, Loris, REDCap, and others.
- Develops methods for tracking and reporting data and monitors incoming and outgoing data to ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable regulatory agency policy.
- Learns and be certified if required on the administration of questionnaires, measurements, and tasks used in this project.
- Learns how to administer the Baby Toolbox, ERICA, and deferred Imitation task, among others.
- In conjunction with CRC II, the CRC I will assist with the development of standard operating procedures in the UAB site and ordering equipment or other supplies needed for the study.
- Attends the MRI, EEG, cognitive, and behavioral assessments for the participating children and their caregivers and will be trained on the administration of these tasks, and will obtain certification as needed.
- Assists in uploading data according to the protocol.
- Collaborates well with all team members from this project, investigators, and PIs.
- Conducts literature reviews and will write reports to inform the team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: $43,890 - $71,320 High School diploma or GED required.
Preferences
- Ability to work flexible hours (i.e., some evenings and weekends).
- Training or education in psychology, communicative disorders, child development, disabilities, substance use.
- Background on Social Work or case management.
- Bilingual speaks Spanish and English.
